Introducing the new Dyson Micro 1.5kgTM vacuum: the only 1.5kg machine with 99.99% filtration[1] that captures and seals in more dust than any other 1.5kg vacuum
Dyson’s latest lightweight machine has no loss of suction and picks up more than any other lightweight cordless vacuum[2]

[PH / 15 July 2021] Today Dyson is launching its first 1.5kg lightweight vacuum, its lightest yet, and the only 1.5kg vacuum that doesn’t blow out dust or lose suction. Dyson engineers have considered and adjusted every element of the vacuum, including the cleaner head, cyclones, and battery, in order to provide owners with lightweight portability while maintaining cleaning performance. A five-stage, fully sealed advanced filtration system captures 99.99% of microscopic particles, including particles as small as 0.3 microns[3] – meaning the Dyson Micro 1.5kgTM expels cleaner air back into your home.

The Dyson Micro 1.5kgTM provides the ease of use and convenience of a lightweight vacuum cleaner designed for daily cleaning, while providing cleaning performance that provides superior pick up, filtration, and no loss of suction[4]. It marks the only lightweight vacuum that doesn’t compromise on cleaning and avoids the problems of other similar lightweight vacuums[5], which can have weak suction and also blow out dust. Others can also struggle to trap potentially harmful particles, compromising on the quality of air expelled back into homes.

“The problem with lightweight vacuums is simple: there is always a compromise. Some machines use weak motors and compensate for their poor airflow by making compromises in filtration, meaning that instead of capturing fine dust they potentially exhaust it back out into the air.

Since inventing cyclone technology and pioneering cord-free vacuums, we have continuously sought to do more with less – enhancing product performance while making our machines lighter and more efficient. By focusing on improvements in core technology – highly efficient Hyperdymium motors, lithium-ion batteries, cyclones and pick up systems – we’ve been able to develop a machine weighing only 1.5kg but capable of constant suction and expelling cleaner air,” says James Dyson, Founder and Chief Engineer. “The Dyson Micro 1.5kgTM is the only 1.5kg machine on the market that achieves 99.99% filtration[6], no loss of suction[7], and superior floor cleaning performance.”

Engineered for Asian users, the Dyson Micro 1.5kgTM is the perfect choice for those who like a lighter machine who like to clean often without compromising on pick up and filtration. The machine also features an all-new Micro FluffyTM cleaner head, which is only 207mm wide and 45% smaller than the Dyson V11 cleaner head[8]. With a direct-drive motor, soft-woven nylon and anti-static carbon fibre filaments, the machine is able to remove large debris and fine dust[9] from hard floors and crevices[10].

No compromise on Dyson technology

The new lightweight vacuum includes patented Dyson technology – concentrated in a compact format to ensure that owners do not compromise on performance. Starting with a Dyson HyperdymiumTM motor, Dyson engineers re-engineered the circuit board architecture and added thicker diameter copper windings to ensure optimal performance with the machine’s new lighter battery.

No compromise on filtration

At 1.5kg, the machine features Dyson’s smallest cyclone pack ever with just eight root cyclones, with carefully tweaked cyclone geometry to ensure they tune into the new airflow rate, while maintaining its efficiency in a small, slim package. As a result, the Dyson Micro 1.5kgTM has no loss of suction[11].

Dyson’s five stage, fully sealed advanced filtration system also captures 99.99% of microscopic particles, including particles as small as 0.3 microns[12]. Instead of shrinking the filter, Dyson engineers worked to miniaturise the bayonet fittings in order to make room for 1.6 metres of PTFE membrane (filter material) folded 122 times, so that this smaller filter delivers the same advanced filtration as our bigger cord-free machines.

Balanced for comfort

The machine has been ergonomically designed to ensure that its weight is balanced around our handle to feel even lighter in the hand. It features a two-button control for more comfortable, continuous cleaning. In hand-held mode, with the Worktop attachment, the machine weighs less than 1kg.

The Dyson Micro 1.5kgTM also comes with two tools – for cleaning up high, down low and anywhere in between. These tools include a Mini motorised tool to tackle hair and ground-in dirt and a Combi-crevice tool.

Other key features of the Dyson Micro 1.5kg™ include:

Easy, no-touch bin emptying: the straight, slim bin has an ejection mechanism with a rotary catch, to drive out dust in one smooth action. A silicone collar wipes down the mesh shroud to drive out dust without dirtying your hands.

Two button control: It has a power button instead of the classic trigger, meaning users can swap hands while navigating obstacles, making cleaning that bit easier.

Light, fade-free, energy-dense battery:  enables up to 20 minutes of run time[13].

The wall dock: enables users to lean the machine into the recharging dock, ready for your next clean.

The Dyson Micro 1.5kg™ cord-free vacuum cleaner is priced at PhP19,900 and available from July 15 at Dyson Demo stores, as well as exclusive to Dyson’s LazMall flagship store on Lazada Philippines.

[1] Based on ASTM F1977-04 test standard. Tests performed by third-party independent laboratories under the required test conditions. A standard test method for determining the initial filtration efficiency of a vacuum cleaner system. The filtration efficiency of six particulates of non-continuous diameter is measured by the entire vacuum cleaner system (0.3 micron, 0.5 micron, 0.7 micron, 1.0 micron, 2.0 micron, and 3.0 micron or more), the vacuum cleaner system is placed in a fixed state throughout the test process, by counting the number of upstream particles and downstream particles for analysis and obtaining results. Test environment: air temperature (21.1 ° C ± 2.8 ° C) and humidity range 35% – 55%.
